#Holodomor Remembrance Day
Today is Holodomor Remembrance Day in Ukraine. There were actually 3 separate events of Holodomor ("Extermination by hunger" or "Hunger-extermination" in Ukrainian). The worst was in 1932-33 in which 2.5-7 million Ukrainians died of starvation or illness due to the genocidal policies of Stalin. It was a man made famine- a deliberate genocide by Stalin and Soviet communists to crush dissent in Ukraine. Russia continues to bring death and destruction to Ukraine in the form of support and active assistance of the separatist movement in eastern Ukraine. We have the opportunity to bring a brighter future to families in Ukraine through child and family sponsorship and providing Operation Christmas Love parcels to needy families. What if the world hadn't turned its back on the man made genocide in the 1930's? We'll never know. But you can change the future for one child, one family in Ukraine this Christmas.
