Wednesdays in the Word: What I've been reading this week

Job 41 is a fascinating description of the awesomeness of God's creatures and, more importantly, the God Who created and controls the monsters of the deep.

Bible scholars may debate about what this creature is but it's obviously a dragon!  I think its strange how there are tales of dragons in all cultures from ancient history to present time if there is no such thing (or ever was) as a dragon.  Some creature that looked an awful lot like a dragon inspired fear and terror in the past.

Regardless of whether or not there ever were REAL dragons or not (maybe this passage is referring to some other ancient beast), God is making Himself known to Job.  

He is the Creator. And  He is the Controller of our destinies.   Good.  Bad. And everything in between.  That's frightening and very comforting at the same time.
